State Pension
Currently the state pension is for people who are aged 66 years or older. To qualify for state pension you have to have at least 10 years on your National Insurance record to get any state pension. The 10 years do not have to be in a row.
The 10 years means at least one or more of the following applies to you, you were working and paid National Insurance contributions.
Pension Credit/Pension Guarantee
It is a extra money to help you cover your costs if you're over State Pension age and living
on a low income.
DLA (Disability Living Allowance)
Disability living allowance is a help towards the care and mobility needs if you are living with a disability. Its a tax free benefit paid at different rates depending on the level of help you need.
P.I.P. (Personal Independence Payment)
It is an extra benefit where you get money to help you with your daily life if you have an illness disability or mental health condition.
This is a extra benefit on top of other benefits ie. Employment and support benefit. Your income, saving, and whether you are working or not does not affect your eligibility.
Incapacity Benefit
Incapacity benefit is for those who are sick or disabled and have have been incapable of work for four or more days in a row and who arenot entitled to Statutory Sick Pay. To get incapacity benefit a person must have paid enough National Insurance Contributions at the right rate and the right time.
Severe Disablement Allowance
You should claim if you are under 20 or over 20 but been unable to work before your 20th birthday or you have the high rate care component of disability living allowance, or registered as blind, or have been assessed as 80% disabled for industrial injuries or war disablement pension schemes.
Council Benefits and disputes

DLA for Children
Disability living allowance (DLA) provides help towards the extra casts of bring up a disabled child.
Older DLA Claims
If you were born on or before 8th April 1948 you can continue to receive DLA as long as you still have care or mobility needs.
DLA is now for people aged under 65. However, there is an equivalent to Disability Living Allowance for people aged over 65 called Attendance Allowance.
Attendance Allowance
It is not essential to have had a formal diagnosis to claim Attendance Allowance. If you are still attending appointments or tests to investigate what is wrong with you.
As long as you have needed help support or supervision, or you have had difficulties for 6 months because of your condition you can claim Attendance Allowance.
Carer's Allowance
You could get a weekly allowance if you care for someone at least 35 hours a week and can get certain benefits.
You do not have to be related to, or live with the person you care for. If someone else also cares for the same person as you, only one of you can claim carer's allowance.
Preparation for Assessment

Child benefit
If you have a child / children you are eligible for child benefit from birth to age 16 years or if your child is in full time education then you are entitle to child benefit until the child reaches the age of 19 years.

You can only make a claim for Child Tax Credit if you are already get Working Tax Credit.
You can only claim Child Tax Credit for child / children you are responsible for. The amount you could get depends on when you children were born.
